The A-Z Design Tips Part 1

We thought to create a post for you to share some tips to making your home a little more special and unique. It’s the most important thing that you feel comfortable in your home because you are spending a lot of time in your accommodation. The M – Z will follow on the Blog post part 2.

A is for Art

Art can transform a space so easily. Why not put a painting of your favorite city in a room. It will make you always smile when you look at it and it connects you with great memories you had in that destination. Or put a painting of your favourite painter on the wall. Whatever you do, only buy the pieces you feel some kind of an emotional connection to. Paintings are always telling a story.

B is for Blankets

If your couch has a colour like grey you can spice something up with an intense colour. But the most important thing is that the blanket is cozy and soft.

C is for Curtains and Carpets

The right curtains and carpet can give a great touch to your apartment. A lot of people use colours like white, beige or black when it comes to furniture. An idea is to give your apartment a special touch with coloured curtains or carpets.

D is for Details

Don’t miss out on those important accessories in a space. They bring life to any surface and create a history of the person you are. Mix old and new, vintage with items picked up on your travels and display them with care around your home. One of the nicest ways to bring more personality to your space is putting pictures of your loved ones I a beautiful frame. I think this can be a huge missed opportunity to bring some character and love into the home.

E is for Energy

There is no better feeling than guest coming to your home and feeling the energy in your home and the special atmosphere you have created. It will make you make smile and your efforts have been worth it.

F is for Fireplace

Fireplaces are used for the relaxing ambiance they create and for heating a room. Modern fireplaces vary in heat efficiency, depending on the design.

Fireplace create a relaxing environment and after a long working day it can be very helpful for relaxing and will help you to come down from the busy office work.

G is for Gaining experience

I guess if you compare the first flat you lived and the last flat or house you will be living there will be a lot of differences. Sometimes we have to try things out (colours, materials,..) and accept that there could be a better solution. That’s ok because every time when it comes to interior design you will have more knowledge because of your experience and will figure out what you like more and what you don’t like.

H is for House plants

Even if you don’t like the colour green but the majority likes house plants. It makes you feel like living in a garden and will make you feel more healthy and comfortable. You could create a corner flower tower or a simple shelf can free up room for rows of plants for example. If you have the privilege to have a little balcony or terrace you can keep several pots on a tray to design a portable garden.

I is for Ideas

Don’t be scared to try out some of your ideas that are in your mind. If you don’t like the result at the end that’s ok. If you haven’t failed, you haven’t learned! Sometimes the best results come from knowing what doesn’t work. Learning from your own design mistakes will make you much better in understanding what you love and in which way you want to live.

Several things can make your home feel lived in, cozy, and inviting.  Hopefully there are some design ideas for you in particular that can bring the cozy factor into your home like no other. We hope you will enjoy and be able to put your ideas into practice.
